Socialization, Training, Activity, Responsibility
This class, designed by the American Kennel Club, is for puppies age 12 weeks to a year old who have already completed a basic training course. It is open to all dogs, both purebred and mixed breeds, and helps your puppy adapt and respond to the larger world in controlled and positive ways.
Your pet isn’t the only one who stands to benefit from this class. It will also teach you how to communicate effectively with your puppy and will strengthen your bond by taking care of a wide array of obedience issues so you can focus on having fun and enjoying your dog’s company.
Puppies will learn:
- to allow petting by a stranger
- walk politely on a leash
- sit, down, stay, and recall commands
- responding appropriately to distractions
Upon successful completion, your puppy will receive a ribbon and be listed in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy records at AKC. Your dog will also be prepared for the next step in AKC training, the Canine Good Citizen program.
Age: 12 weeks-1 year
Length: 7 weeks
